Builders & LabourersConnect

Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

Builders & Labourers Connect (“we”, “us”) connects construction businesses with workers. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we look after it, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and password (stored encrypted, never readable by us).
  • Worker profiles: suburb, state, postcode, skills, experience, availability, tickets and licences you choose to add, and anything you write about yourself.
  • Business profiles: business name, ABN, location and description.
  • Activity: jobs you post, applications, and messages sent through the platform.
  • Technical information: basic logs (such as IP address and browser type) needed to run and secure the service. We use a single login cookie. We don't use advertising trackers.

How we use it

  • To run your account and show your profile or job listings.
  • To let workers and businesses find and contact each other.
  • To keep the platform safe, for example by preventing fraud, spam and misuse.
  • To send you messages about your account, jobs and applications.
  • To improve the service. We use combined, non-identifying statistics for this.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who can see your information

  • Public: worker profiles (name, suburb, skills, tickets, experience, availability) and job listings can be seen by anyone visiting the site.
  • Businesses you apply to: can see your mobile number and application note.
  • Message recipients: see the messages you send them.
  • Service providers: we use trusted providers to host the site and database (in Australia where available), and in future to send email and SMS. They may only use your information to provide those services to us.
  • As required by law: for example, if a court or authority lawfully requests it.

Storage and security

Your information is stored with our hosting and database providers. We protect it with encryption in transit, encrypted passwords and restricted access. No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.

Your choices

  • You can view and update your profile at any time from your dashboard.
  • You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Turning off “Available for work” hides you from “available now” searches.

Contact and complaints

Contact us through the messaging feature or the contact details we publish on this site.

If you're not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
